Mary Jane Carroll, longtime resident of Washington Crossing, Pa. died peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2014.
Born on August 30, 1929 in Bronxville, New York, Mary Jane was the daughter of the late Matthew and Catherine Kelsh. Mary Jane attended the Academy of the Sacred Heart of Mary and Marymount College in New York. She married the late James F. Carroll in 1956 and they shared 55 wonderful years together. Mary Jane worked for Crowell-Collier Publishing and Family Circle Magazine until her children were born.
Mary Jane is survived by her two loving daughters and her sons-in law, Mary C. Feely and her husband William of Langhorne and Joanne C. Skahill and her husband Michael of Williamsburg, VA. Mary Jane spent many hours volunteering at Danbury Hospital, CT., for Meals On Wheels and Ladies Guild. Her devotion to being a wife, mother and grandmother along with the love she gave her family are among her great accomplishments. She considered her five grandchildren Katelin, Sean and Bridget Feely, and Madeline and Connor Skahill her crowning achievements.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday June 23rd from 9:00am until her Funeral Mass at 10:00am in the Olde Church of St. Andrew, 135 S. Sycamore St., Newtown, PA 18940.
Interment will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
Contributions in her memory may be made to Bucks County Association for the Blind, 400 Freedom Dr. Newtown, PA 18940.
