Malvin L. Stern, of Lansdale, PA, died suddenly on Sunday, July 5, 2015.

A beloved husband, father and grandfather, was wed to his wife Karen (Olsen) for 27 years. The late son of Arthur and Pauline (Wolinsky) Stern, was born in the Bronx, New York in 1945.

He is survived by his loving wife and children; Kamrn Stern of Roanoke, VA, Karrie Hodges of Woodstock, IL, Kelly Mulligan of Dumfries, VA, Karly Stern of Dallas, TX, and his brother Fred Stern of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren; Conner, James, Savannah, Lauren, Kordell and Katelyn.

He was an accomplished distance runner, setting records that stood for years at Queens College. Through hard work and determination, he achieved his dream and earned a Ph.D. in Immunology/Microbiology. As part of an academic research team, he made significant contributions to the scientific community, having his work published in nationally recognized journals.

His love and generosity to family will always be remembered.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until his Funeral Service, 11:00 a.m. at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. His interment will be held privately.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations to National Parks Conservation Association, or Settlement Music School, www.smsmusic.org, may by made in his memory.
