William Warren Tomlinson of Ivyland passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at his residence on Saturday June 20, 2015. He was 73.

Bill was the loving and devoted husband of 19 years to Lynne R. Marts Tomlinson.

Born in Abington he was a son of the late Warren F. and Margaret McClelland Tomlinson.

Bill graduated from Neshaminy High School with the class of 1961 and went on to proudly serve with the Army National Guard. He began his career with the Northampton Township Police Department in 1966, serving 30 years until his retirement from the position of Sergeant of the Criminal Investigation Division.

Along with his wife, Bill was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Ivyland. In addition he was actively involved for many years as a driver with the Trevose Heights Rescue Squad, the Bucks County F.O.P. Lodge 53, and the National Rifle Association.

An avid outdoorsman, Bill enjoyed being outside any chance he had. He loved boating and could easily be found just about anywhere there was water, especially Sandy Hook, NJ and Lake Wallenpaupack. He also enjoyed travelling the country with his wife and grandchildren in their R.V., hunting, salt-water fishing with his daughters and friends, quadding and snow mobiling.

Above all else, Bill will be remembered as a true gentleman to whom time with family was of the utmost importance. He will be dearly missed as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle and as an admirable public servant of his community.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his daughters, Donna Marie Chakiris and Connie Lorraine Pickwell; his grandchildren, Devon and Joseph Chakiris and Melissa Pickwell; his brother, James Tomlinson and his wife, Patti; his “honorary” grandchildren, Mark and Fallon Murdock; and countless other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewings, Tuesday Evening June 23, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and Wednesday Morning June 24, 2015 from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 820 Almshouse Rd., Ivyland, PA 18974. His interment will be private.
