Francis C. Neary Sr., died peacefully with family at his bedside on Wednesday, June 17th at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was 92.
Fran was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was born and lived most of his life in the Hartford CT area until relocating to Langhorne, PA to live near his daughter and son in-law. He graduated from Hartford High School, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Fran worked at the U.S. Post Office as a letter carrier for 30 years. He also worked for 45+ years at Wethersfield Country Club where he had many friends and fond memories.
Fran was preceded in death by his wife Josephine (Farina), his parents, James and Anna, a sister Anne Chattelle, and four brothers, George, James, Thomas, and Richard. He is survived by his son Francis Jr. (wife Alice), daughter Luanne Socha (husband Richard), and son Andrew (wife Anne). Fran was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren, Elizabeth Yavenditti, Kevin Neary, Michael Socha, Andrea Quinn, Matthew Neary, and Brendan Neary, and six great grandchildren, Anna Katherine and William Yavenditti, Nathan and Max Quinn, Desmond Sullivan Neary, and Amelia Socha. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday, June 24th from 9:00AM until his Funeral Service at 9:45AM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Richboro Rd (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
