Frank Cappuccino, of Yardley, PA died peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, June 8, 2015 at his brothers’ residence. He was 86.

He was the beloved husband of over 40 years to Florence Cappuccino.

Born in Philadelphia and raised in the Kensington Section, Frank was the son of the late Anthony and Josephine Corbra Cappuccino and brother of the late Vito and Anthony.

Frank was an amateur lightweight boxer who turned professional after over 130 bouts and earning the coveted Golden Glove Award. Professionally, Frank was undefeated in his six bouts. In 1958, Frank received his referee’s license and a new passion that would span an exciting and memorable 50 years. He had the pleasure of officiating at over 10,000 professional matches and 96 World Championship matches. Frank was greatly loved and respected by Boxers and the boxing community and has been honored as a member of both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame and he also appeared as a referee in Sylvester Stallone’s “Rocky V”.

When Frank was not in the ring, He worked for and later retired from Keebler Company as a supervisor and for the School District of Philadelphia as a sanitation control inspector. Frank will be greatly missed by everyone whose life he has impacted.

In addition to his beloved wife Florence, Frank is survived by his loving siblings; Salvatore and his wife Heather, Mario, and Maria Cappuccino. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday Evening, June 12th from 7:00-9:00PM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and at St. Ignatius of Antioch Church, 999 Reading Ave. Yardley, PA 19067 on Saturday, June 13th from 9:00am until his Funeral Mass 10:00am. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Feasterville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the National Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090.
