Joseph Pachuta of Montgomeryville (Lansdale), Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at the age of 97. He resided at Sunrise Assisted Living of Blue Bell, PA with his wife of more than 73 years, Annette.

Born in the community of “Trail Run” (Robins), Ohio, he was the son of John and Elizabeth Pachuta. Joe was one of the “Greatest Generation” who served in the U.S. Army within the Pacific theater throughout WWII. Following the war, he lived in Cleveland, Ohio where he served in VA medical administration and retired as the Administrative Officer for Research within the VA Hospital of Cleveland in 1973 after more than 33 years of government service to our veterans.

A devoted husband and loving father, Joe is survived by his adoring wife and their three sons Roger (Margery) of Naples, Texas; Mark (Jean) of Lansdale, Pennsylvania and Paul (Lisa) of Temecula, California.  Grandchildren include Scott and Holly (Rocco); Christopher and Matthew Todd; and Maxwell, Rexford, Pierce and Harrison. They also have five cherished great-grandchildren. Joseph is survived by one sister, Ethyl Rusyniak of Cleveland, but was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Joseph and Annette moved to Pennsylvania in 2006.

Joe was a man who loved good food, dancing to big band and polka music and the company of people. He brought joy to all who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation Friday, May 29th from 11:00 AM until his Funeral Service at 12:00 PM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901. Joseph will be laid to rest immediately following the Funeral Service in the Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown with Military Honors at 1:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/ For friends and family outside of the eastern Pennsylvania area, a memorial service is anticipated to be held in Cleveland at a later date.
