Henry C. Lajewski
Henry C. Lajewski, a lifelong resident of Arlington, VA, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Sunrise at Lower Makefield. He was 94.
Born in Scranton, he was a son of the late Constantine and Anna Hernianowski Lajewski, the late Mary Susan McMichael, and brother to the late Helen and Pearl.
He was the beloved husband of more than 50 years to Jean Oberlander Lajewski.
Henry was a 1942 graduate of the University of Scranton. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Corp, and proudly served our country as a Captain during World War II. He stayed on reserve, and eventually retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. After returning from the service, he enrolled in Catholic University and graduated with a Masters degree.
Henry retired in 1981 from the Federal Government as a Health Educator. He was a lifetime member of St. Agnes Church and the Knights of Columbus in Arlington.
Henry loved to sing and enjoyed gardening. He was a loving father, brother and grandfather, and will be dearly missed.
In addition to his wife, Henry is survived by his daughter: Ann L. Zang Lubart and her husband Matthew Lubart of Pennington, NJ; his son-in-law Earle McMichael; and his four grandchildren: Morgan, Sydney, Victoria, and Henry.
Services and interment for Henry will be private at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
