Nancy Raden Mullen of Doylestown, PA died Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Doylestown Hospital in Doylestown. She was 103.
Nancy was the beloved wife of the late Arthur F. Mullen.
Born in Johnstown, PA, she was raised in an orphanage until the age of 19, when she was encouraged to pursue her dreams. She moved to New York City with little money and studied performing arts. Nancy performed as a ballerina and eventually became a Rockette at Radio City Music Hall. As Captain of the line, she trained a group of dancers in Washington, DC, where she met her late husband. After marrying, the couple moved to Pensacola. Nancy continued her interest in dancing by teaching ballet and ballroom dancing. In Pensacola, she had many interests and hobbies. Nancy was once voted Best Cook in Pensacola by the City Council and was also known for her hand sewing and intricate smocking on christening gowns. She was also a well known figure to many as she worked in her garden. Nancy was a long time Communicant of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Church in Pensacola. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all who have come to know her.
Nancy is survived by her children, John Christopher Mullen and his wife Deborah of Charlotte, NC, Michael Kevin Mullen of Tuscaloosa, AL, Michaelanne Hall of Canton, NC, and Majerus Mullen Fredericks and her husband Robert of Newtown, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Church, 1212 E. Moreno Street, Pensacola, FL 32503. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford Street, Boys Town, NE, 68010.
