Alfred L. Richards died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a battle with cancer on Saturday, March 28, 2015. He was 86.

Born in Tallapoosa, GA, Al was the beloved husband of Martha Orr Richards. They would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on April 26th of this year.

After graduating high school in 1946, he joined Williams Company as a pipefitter. Mr. Richards then proudly served two years in the United States Army as a tank commander in occupied Germany, achieving the rank of Sergeant. After completing his military service, Al returned to Williams Company where he had a 37-year career working on natural gas pipelines across the country and continent. He retired in 1991 as a Division Manager for Williams, responsible for hundreds of employees and projects across the northeast. Mr. Richards was recognized nationwide as an expert in natural gas transmission. After retiring, he continued working for more than a decade as a consultant. Al loved spending time with his family, fishing, and hunting. He is lovingly remembered for his faith, generosity, compassion, and strength.

Alfred and his wife Jean were residents of Ewing, New Jersey from 1980 until 2003 when they moved to Langhorne.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters and their spouses; Katrinka Brewer and her husband Winston, Tracey Chebra and her husband Eugene. He is also survived by seven dear grandchildren; Shannon, Jamie, Katie, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Matthew and Rebekah. He is also survived by three great grandchildren; Jaxon, Cody, and Michael.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings on Wednesday Evening April 1st, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and on Thursday morning April 2, 2015 at Grace Point Church 529 Washington Crossing Rd., Newtown from 9:00 AM until his funeral service at 10:00 AM.

Interment with Military Honors will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
