Jens Larry Simonsen, of Philadelphia, died on Monday, March 23, 2015, at Gloria Dei Farms. He was 83.

He was the beloved husband of the late Audrey Crowers.

Born in Ogden, Utah he was the son of the late Jens Lang and Ione Russell Simonsen and brother of the late Russell Simonsen.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many positions which included Branch President, Melchizedek Priesthood holder and teacher. He proudly served in the US Navy on the USS Ross from 1951 to 1955.

He is survived by his children Leslie Fischer and her husband Ed, Jens Larry Simonsen Jr. and his wife Jane, Dale Simonsen and his wife Sharon, Keith Simonsen and his wife Andrea, his brothers Dennis and, Charlie Simonsen, his sisters, Karlene Tingey, Jarene Burbank, and Pat Leavitt. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren and his 1 great-grandson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain and on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 8:30 am until his Funeral Service at 10:00 am in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2072 Red Lion Rd., Philadelphia. His interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
