Gloria Shefcik of Twining Village in Holland, PA died Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. She was 90.
Gloria was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Stanley Shefcik.
Born in Garfield, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Anna Reynics Traficante.
Gloria was a former 52 year resident of Teaneck, New Jersey before moving to Twining Village in 2007, where she was very involved in the Resident’s Association activities, including being the Sunshine Committee Chair. In her leisure, she enjoyed reading, needle work, crocheting and completing puzzle books especially the New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle. Gloria traveled extensively with her late husband Stanley and dedicated her time and love to her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her keen sense of humor and will be deeply missed by her family and by all who came to know her.
Gloria is survived by her children, Kenneth Shefcik and his wife Beverly of New Hope, Dr. Janet Raban and her husband Edward of Littleton, Colorado and James Shefcik and his wife Gail of Manhasset, New York. She is also survived by her 5 cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Porter, Matthew Shefcik, Dr. Jenna Godfrey and Jake and Erik Shefcik and, 2 great grandsons, Charlie and George Shefcik. In addition, she is survived by her 2 step brothers, Leslie Novak of Dunstable, Massachusetts and Robert Novak of Wanaque, New Jersey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings, Tuesday March10th from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 7:00 – 9:00pm and on Wednesday March 11th from 9:30 - 10:30am in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 followed by her Funeral Mass 11:00am at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd. Holland, PA 18966. Private interment will be held at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Lodi, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Capital Campaign of St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966.
