Anna E. “Betty” Scanlan of Langhorne, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2015, surrounded by her children. She was 92.

Betty, as she was known to her family and friends, was the loving and devoted wife of the late John E. Scanlan.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late John T. and Anna M. Healey McGrath and sister of the late Rita Rabenstine, Helen Cummings, John T. McGrath Jr., Teresa O’Drain and Robert McGrath. .

Betty was a resident of Langhorne for the past 32 years and formerly lived in Holland, PA. She was a graduate of John W. Hallahan High School for Girls in Philadelphia, Class of 1940. In her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, and travelling. Some of her more memorable trips were vacationing in Alaska, San Francisco, Ireland, Florida and many family vacations at the Jersey shore. She was an avid bingo, bunko and scrabble player. Faith and family came first and foremost in her life and she always looked forward to the special times spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always attended their sporting events and school activities and she never missed Mass! She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her six children; Annmarie Burke and her husband, William, of Langhorne, PA, Kathleen B. Cornell of Allentown, PA, Maureen E. Bullene of Newtown, PA, John E. Scanlan and his wife, Elaine, of Blackwood, NJ, Mary Regina Clift and her husband, Steven, of Philadelphia, PA, and Karen M. Ercolino and her husband, Stephen, of Philadelphia, PA. She is also survived by her loving 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday evening, February 5, 2015, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Friday morning, February 6, 2015, from 8:30 to 9:15 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road) Richboro, PA 18954 and to her Funeral Mass 10:00AM in the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd. Newtown, PA 18940 . Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
