Miriam “Mickey” Braun passed away Saturday January 24th, 2015 surrounded by her family.

Mickey lived a full life and she touched many people’s hearts along the way. Born August 12, 1935 in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania, she spent most of her life in Upper Makefield. She met her beloved husband Christopher while working at Bell Telephone as a repair clerk. Mickey and Chris married in 1955; 2015 represents their 60th wedding anniversary. Only months after marrying, they lost their Yardley home in the flood of 1955 and Mickey and Chris rebuilt their lives together on Jericho Mountain. They had a wonderful life together, and were always by each other’s side.

After raising her daughters, Mickey worked at Doylestown Hospital for 10 years. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, music, baking and sewing. Among Mickey’s greatest joys were making others around her happy and welcome and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. They fondly recall their special Saturday Nights spent with her and their grandfather and Wednesday night family dinners. She had a tremendous influence on the people they have become today. Perhaps the greatest gift Mickey shared with her family was her generous spirit and unconditional love. Everyone will dearly miss her.

Mickey is survived by her husband of 59 years, Christopher; her two loving daughters Deborah Hall of Bristol, and Nancy Heyrich and her husband George of Upper Makefield; and her two grandchildren Samantha and Matthew.

Relatives and friends are invited to Mickey’s Memorial Service on Sunday February 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1680 Aquetong Rd., New Hope, PA 18938. Her interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Miriam’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market St., Ste. 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
