During this period he also became a member of the evening division faculty at La Salle College. Upon his retirement from education, Thomas and Rita operated Antiquarian Book Fairs in Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C.
In his leisure, Thomas excelled at writing feature articles for military magazines based on his years of service with the U.S.M.C. He was knowledgeable and proud of his County Donegal Irish heritage. Tom and his wife were fortunate to be able to travel extensively in Ireland.
In addition to his beloved wife Rita, Thomas will be deeply missed by his son, Conal McCauley of Conshocken, PA, and his daughter, Maura McCauley Coulter and her husband Charles of Chalfont, PA. Seven grandchildren, Patrick, Deirdre, Bridget, Ciara, Kevin, Braedan, and Molly also survive Thomas.
