Margaret R. Bodkin of Ivyland passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband and family by her side. She was 80.
She was the beloved wife of James T. Bodkin with whom she shared 52 years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late William and Margaret Carberry Begley and sister of the late Paul, William, Leonard, and Helen Begley, Annamarie Scullion, and Marie Fitzgerald.
Margaret was a 1952 graduate of Nazareth Academy where she developed countless friendships that have lasted to this day. She went on to work ten years with PECO as a secretary and then devoted her time to her children and family as a homemaker until her kids were grown. She would go on to continue her administrative work as a secretary for Penn State Abington, where she was employed until her retirement in 1999. For Margaret her family was always number one and she will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and an adoring grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her husband, Margaret is survived by her children, James P. Bodkin, Annamarie Gresko and her husband, Gary, Michael S. Bodkin, Thomas W. Bodkin, and Margaret E. Quinlisk and her husband, John. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, James C. Bodkin (Krista), Kayla M. Bodkin (Shawn), Danielle Bodkin, Michael F. Gresko, Kaitlyn A. Gresko, and Meghan E. Quinlisk, Kayleigh M. Quinlisk, and Dennis J. Quinlisk.
Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday January 14, 2015 from 8:30 AM until 10:30 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954 and to her Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Rd., Richboro, Pa 18954. Her interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s name may be made to Nazareth Academy, 4001 Grant Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19114, Attn: Development Office and please note the donation is in Memory of Margaret R. Bodkin.
