Albert W. Smedburg, of Churchville, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at his residence. He was 93.
He was the beloved husband of 69 years to the late Ida M. Funk Smedburg.
Born in Philadelphia he was the son of the late John and Louise Kessler Smedburg and father of the late Alan E. Smedburg.
Albert was a machinist and then a tool and die maker at the Frankford Arsenal and then in the private sector until his retirement.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife both at the casinos and the race track. He was known as an all around handy man, having built a home that remains in his family to this day. He will be remembered by his loved ones as having been a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Albert is survived by his loving and devoted daughter; Carol M. Larson and her husband Ronald K. of Churchville; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, son and parents, he was preceded in death by 9 siblings.
Albert’s family will receive friends on Friday January 9, 2015 from 10:00 am until his Memorial Service at 11:00 am in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd), Richboro, PA 18954. His Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association at 5455 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43214.
