Sylvia Pilson Wilson of Yardley died on Friday peacefully on Friday December 26, 2014 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. She was a young 102.

        Born in Delaware County she lived in Morton and Collingdale most of her life before moving to Toms River, New Jersey where she lived from 1978 until she moved to Chandler Hall in Newtown.

       She was the beloved wife of the late Howard R. Wilson and daughter of the late Peter and Rose Shaffer Pilson, she was pre deceased by 3 sisters and 1 brother.

        Sylvia lived a long and lively life. She went to work for the Bell Telephone Company at the age of 14, and stayed with them for over 50 years as an operator retiring in 1976, and was selected to be “Miss Bicentennial”.Sylvia was a woman of many talents she enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening, playing cards, volunteering at soup kitchens and just being social and helping people. She would say to family and friends,” I lived a good life had a good job and have been blessed with good health.

        Sylvia is survived by her supportive 3 nieces and nephew, Rosemarie Stephano (Raymond), Gloria Stemple (Clifton), Louise Spolintino and Charles Merkin (Dorothy), and several great nieces and nephews.

        Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Tuesday from 10:00 am until her Funeral Mass 10:30 am at the Church of St. Andrew 81 Swamp Rd. Newtown. Interment St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.

        In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the Bucks County Assoc. for the Blind 400 Freedom Drive Newtown, PA 18940.
