       Andrew J. Young of Newtown died suddenly on December 3, 2014 in Temple Terrace, Florida, while visiting his son. He was 88

       Born in Upper Penns Grove, New Jersey, Mr. Young was the beloved husband of the late Marjorie A. Wichelman Young and son of the late Charles and Mary (nee Petrus). He was predeceased by 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

       Andrew was a resident of Philadelphia most of his life before moving to Newtown six years ago. He attended Camden High School and later studied business courses at Rutger’s University.

       A veteran of the United States Army, serving during WW II, he was a special vehicle operator and chief mechanic for special vehicles. After the service, he went to work in the printing industry as a mechanic. With his motivation and skill, he moved rapidly to position of Plant Manager. He later joined the firm Kamens Publishing Company and eventually became Senior Advertising Manager, a position he held until his retirement in 1999. One of his major responsibilities was the Playbill magazine. Over the years, he and his late wife hosted many clients and their families at numerous dinners and Broadway shows in Philadelphia, New York and Baltimore.

       Andrew enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and even a game of chance. Late in life he discovered a new talent and hobby…writing. Some of his most memorable times where spent at his home in Brigantine, New Jersey with family and friends.

       He is survived by his devoted children and their spouses: Jacqueline A. Rattigan (Daniel), Karen L. Good (Robert), John A. Young (Suzanne) and Andrew J. Young (Rhonda). He is also survived by 9 dear grandchildren and one sister, Mary Matyjasik of California.

       Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings on Monday evening December 8, 2014 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Tuesday from 8:00am to 9:00am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro. There will be Words of Remembrance at 9:45 am preceding his Funeral Mass at 10:00am in the Olde Church of St. Andrew 135 Sycamore St. Newtown. Interment Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.

       In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations for Tuition Assistance at St. Andrew School 51 Wrights Rd. Newtown, PA 18940. Attn. Development Office.
