Gordon M. Colvin of New Britain passed away too soon on Thursday November 27, 2014 at his home. He was 73.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Thomas and Anna Colvin, who were born in Ireland and later settled in Warrington.

He was the beloved husband of Carol (Warfield) Colvin for 47 years; and the proud father of Joanne (Gene) Cunningham of North Wales, and Thomas (Ilonka) of Maple Glen. He will be greatly missed by his 5 wonderful and talented grandchildren; Ashleigh, Heather, Ryan and Nathan Cunningham and Sofia Colvin of NYC.

Gordon’s personality was one of caring and helping others. His passions were his family and home and always his huge vegetable garden and outdoor bird sanctuary. He always enjoyed NASCAR and football, not to mention his love and enjoyment of his own personal cars. And always important were Saturday yard sales and his ever present jigsaw puzzles.

He will be sadly missed by those of us who knew him and cared about him. He was a 1960 graduate of Central Bucks High School; he was employed for 30 years by Leeds & Northrup Co. of North Wales, he was the First Journeyman Tool and Die Maker to graduate from their Apprenticeship Program in 1978. He was a member of the National Rifle Association where he earned recognition for his marksmanship. After his retirement he worked for the Kinsmen Garden Company in Pipersville.

Gordon’s family will receive condolences on Saturday December 6, from 10:00am until his Memorial Service at 11:00am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. A luncheon will follow his memorial service as a remembrance of his life

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Doylestown Hospital Hospice 595 W. State St. Doylestown, PA 18901.
