Wendy Lynn Turner (Rosenberger)
Wendy Lynn (Rosenberger) Turner of Line Lexington, Pa died at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia on Wednesday, November 26 after a sudden illness. She was 56.
Wendy was the beloved wife of Brian Turner, to whom she was married for 30 years.
Born in Abington, she was the daughter of Raymond and Myra Rosenberger of Kempton, PA.
Wendy was a 1976 graduate of Pennridge High School and went on to serve for 37 years as a Master Sergeant in the 111th Pennsylvania Air National Guard stationed at the Willow Grove Naval Air Station. She also held various Civil Service positions for 35 years at the same location from which she retired in 2013. During this time, Wendy also completed her B.S. degree in Organizational Management from Immaculata College.
Wendy was known for her quick wit, curiosity, and problem-solving skills. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, traveling, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She could make an adventure out of little things or experience one, like skydiving on her 50th birthday. She will be remembered every day by her loving family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Wendy is survived by her daughter Laura Turner and her husband, Steve Adornato, and their children Dominic and Bridget, all of Baltimore, Md.; and her sons Jeffrey Turner, and Marine Cpl. Steven Turner, currently stationed in Hawaii, and his daughter Sofia. She also leaves behind three sisters, Janice Urffer of Croyden, Pa., Rhonda Manduke of Harrisburg, Pa., and Sonia Sommers and her husband Tom of Perkasie, Pa; and half-brother Doug Crane, of Ga. In addition, she leaves behind many nieces and nephews and other relatives throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Wendy’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, December 4, 2014, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. Her interment will be held privately.
