Muriel “Sara” Stragis of Warrington died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown. She was 78.
Muriel was the beloved wife of the late John Stragis.
Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Elver and Catherine Morrisey Pearson.
Muriel was a former resident of Newtown before moving to Warrington in 2007.
We lost Muriel "Sarah" Stragis on November seventeenth to complications following successful cancer surgery. She was the wife of John, who preceded her passing by seven months.
Muriel was a woman of character with friends of all generations. She was a woman never at a loss for words or a good story. To meet Muriel was to like her and to know Muriel was to love her. Later in life, Muriel discovered a talent for watercolor painting that brought an even new circle of friends. Now among lost family and friends, Muriel will find that the watercolors flow smoothly, all the puppies are house broken, and Regis and The View are never re-runs. There is a small empty space in our world where Muriel once stood.
Muriel is survived by her children and their spouses, Guy and Elizabeth Stragis of Whitehouse Station, NJ, Debbie and Frank Dileo of Garwood, NJ, Donald and Licia Stragis of Deerlake, WA, Wendy and Jack Smith of Philadelphia and Todd Stragis of Warrington. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass, 11:00am Thursday, December 2, 2010 at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd. Newtown, PA 18940. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to The Humane Society of the United States, 2100 L St., NW Washington, D.C, 20037 or St. Jude's Children’s Research Hospital, 263 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
