Philip W. Forster of Warrington, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at his son’s residence in Ocean City, NJ surrounded by his loving family. He was 81.
Born in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Fred and Mary Sviatko Forster and brother of the late Gloria Knight, Paul Forster and David Forster.
For the most part, Phil was raised in Newark, NJ where he graduated from St. Michael’s High School, Class of 1950. He was a proud Army veteran having served his country during the Korean War. In 1969 he moved his family from Caldwell, NJ to Willow Grove, PA and purchased his own franchise as an Arnold Bakery route distributor delivering baked goods to supermarkets in the Flourtown, Andorra and Roxborough areas. Phil loved his sports, especially the New York Giants. He was a season ticket holder, along with his brother Fred, while living in North Jersey. Once he relocated to Pennsylvania he eventually became an Eagles and Phillies fan. Also, you could often see him on the sidelines of his grandchildren’s sporting events.
He is survived by his former wife and best friend, Evelyn N. Forster of Warrington, PA, who he met in Newark, NJ when they were 13 years old, his two sons, Ronald P. Forster of Cherry Hill, NJ and Eric P. Forster and his wife, Karen, of Yardley, PA and his brother, Fred Forster and his wife, Catherine, of Toms River, NJ. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Katie, Rob, Jack, Randy, Kevin, Jamie and Drew and his three great grandchildren, Kylie, Tucker and Mason, all of whom he was able to spend time with and loved to be around.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, July 24, 2014, at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Road), New Britain, PA 18901 from 10:00 AM followed by his Funeral Service at 12:00 PM.
Interment will take place at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
