Robert J. Boness Sr., of Drums, PA died on Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at Greater Hazleton Health Alliance. He was 79.
He was born in Chicago, IL; he was the son of the late Louis F. and Irma Grothendieck Boness.
Bob was a resident of Doylestown for many years before moving to Drums, PA in 2001. Bob was an unassuming man who was proud of his career as an Officer in the United States Navy, serving with honor and distinction. He enjoyed playing cards with friends especially pinochle. An avid bowler, gardener he loved the outdoors and looked forward to his camping adventures. He had an ear for music, and loved big band, country and polka music. Bob loved to cook and was a master chef in his own kitchen, a wine maker and brewer and collector of many things. He will be deeply missed.
He was a loving father and grandfather and is survived by his devoted children; Lori J. Pucci of Monmouth Junction, NJ, Carol L. Brown of Portland, OR, Gail M. Boness of Springfield, OR, Patti A. Leonard of Warminster, PA, Robert J. Boness Jr. of Perkasie, PA, his 10 grandchildren Anthony, Nathan, Chelsea, Brian, Mathew, Amber, Celeste, Roland, John and Daniel, 1 great granddaughter Sunny, and his brother Louis of Augusta, WI. He is also survived by his dear friend and care giver Pam Hummel and many caring neighbors who looked in on Bob.
Bob’s family will receive condolences on Thursday, December 9th, from 9:00 AM until his Funeral Service 9:45 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (Rt.202 and Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain. Interment Washington Crossing National Cemetery Newtown PA.
In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory maybe made to Guardians of the National Cemetery
