Anna D. Hoover, of Doylestown, PA died on Sunday, December 26, 2010, at Golden Living Center. She was 92.
She was the beloved wife of the late Charles M. Hoover.
Born on Christmas Day in 1918, in Worthington, PA she was the daughter of the late Arthur L. and Anna Braun Dimitt.
Anna grew up in the western Pennsylvania went to Slippery Rock University where she received her teaching certificate. She then went on to teach fifth grade in the Chartiers Valley School District in for over two decades. Then after many years of being at home and raising her children, Anna returned to college, this time at the University of Pittsburgh where graduated in the early 1960’s with her bachelor’s degree.
She was active in the Dormont Presbyterian Church before moving to Bucks County in 2007. She had a passion for genealogy research and spent countless hours quilting and sewing.
She is survived by her daughter Charlotte Nichols and her husband Daniel of Charles Town, WV, and her son Herbert Hoover and his wife Linda of Doylestown, PA. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Graveside Service, 12:00 Noon on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Worthington United Presbyterian Cemetery, Worthington, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Westmorland County Historical Society, 362 Sand Hill Road, Suite 1, Greensburg, PA 15601.
