Virginia “Ginny” E. Whyte of Doylestown, PA passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Neshaminy Manor. She was 90.

Born in Swedesboro, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Scott Winfield and Nellie Alice Spence Boyd.

A 1941 graduate of Bensalem High School, she was happily married to the late Robert “Bob” R. Whyte for more than 60 years. She was previously married to the late Theodore F. Ejdys, who was killed in action during WWII.

Ginny enjoyed life with her husband, Bob, in Abington, PA where they raised three children. They retired to the Pocono Mountains and later to Ormond Beach, FL, and Ginny ultimately moved to Doylestown, PA to be near her daughter who lovingly cared for her.

Ginny enjoyed traveling and sightseeing, nature, flower arranging, stage acting and all kinds of dancing. She was an accomplished cake decorator and puppeteer and along with her husband Bob gave many marionette shows over many decades, which entertained young and old. Ginny also made the costumes, wrote the scripts, and directed the shows while Bob made the custom stages and equipment. Her grandfather made the marionettes, which are over 100 years old.

Ginny is survived by her son, Edward Whyte (Mary Ellen Whyte); her daughters, Melanie R. Whyte and Loretta J. Leidy (Luther Leidy); her grandchildren, Scott McMichael, Erik Wilson, Chadford Whyte, Heather Whyte McFeeley and Nicole Leigh Wargo; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Saturday August 9th, 2014 from 12:30 PM until the memorial service, 1 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave., (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18954.

The interment will be private in the Florida National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Doylestown Hospital, 595 W. State St., Doylestown, PA 18901.
