John C. Young “Jack” of Holland, passed away July 20, 2014 at Abington Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was 83.

Jack was the loving husband of 63 years of Dorothy Seabold Young.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John C. Young, Sr. and the late Elsie Forbes Young.

Along with his beloved wife, Jack was a 50 year resident of Holland and a dedicated member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Ivyland.

He was a graduate of Northeast High School, Philadelphia with the class of 1948 and went on to serve in United States Navy Reserves, during the Korean War. Following his military service, John was employed for 38 years with Bell Telephone where he was worked as a marketing manager and then went on to work 10 years for Cheltenham Bank where he served as Vice President.

Jack was a former member of Somerton Lions and also enjoyed spending his time golfing and family vacations at the Jersey Shore.

Most of all he will be remembered as a loyal friend and a true family man who valued and treasured his beloved family above all else. He will be dearly missed.

In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his children, Judith A. King (the late Reid) of Ivyland, John M. Young and his wife, Maria, of Miami, FL, Susan J. Young and her husband, Joseph DeStio of Pittsburgh, and his daughter Sandra L. McCloskey and her husband, Kevin, of Ivyland. Lovingly known as “Pop”, he also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Ryan, Justin, Stephanie (Kevin), Lia, Dan, Troy, and Jackie.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 10 AM until the memorial service 11 AM on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the St. John’s United Methodist Church, 820 Almshouse Rd., Ivyland, PA 18974. The Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the St. John’s United Methodist Church Music Program at the above address.
