Louis G. Madonna, D.D.S. of Furlong died on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Doylestown Hospital. He was 83.
He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Berta C. Hasenknopf Madonna.
Born in Conowingo Maryland, he was the son of the late Louis and Mary M. Santoro Madonna.
Dr. Madonna was a resident of Furlong for over 39 years. He was an accomplished Dentist who practiced in Hatboro for over 30 years and was also a School Dentist with the Hatboro-Horsham School District. Dr. Madonna was instrumental in the inception of the Clymer Medical Clinic and was the former President of the Hatboro Lions Club. In his leisure time, he enjoyed being a pilot and enjoyed flying his own plane and also operating his HAM Radio and reaching out to fellow operators around the world.
In addition to his wife Berta, Louis is survived by his sons, Louis E. Madonna of Doylestown and Thomas Madonna and his wife Jodi and their two children Alicia and Thomas of Harleysville, and Shane Madonna of Philadelphia. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Gloria J. Petrillo and her husband Edward of Holland and his nephews Mark and his wife Marie, Bruce and his wife Denise, Gary and his wife Linda, and Steven.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, from 9:30 am until his Funeral Mass 10:30 am at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 399 Market St. Philadelphia, PA 19106 in Honor of his wife Berta.
