Joan A. Sabatini of Yardley died Friday, February 11, 2011 in Wyndham, New York from injuries sustained from a skiing accident. She was 69.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Agnes Rednor Gaskill of Morrisville, PA.
Joan was a former resident of Washington Crossing, PA and Ewing, NJ before moving to Yardley. She retired from Verizon after 40 years and returned to work for the State of New Jersey. Joan was an avid skier and a member of the Trenton Ski Club for over 20 years. She was a devoted Phillies fan who also enjoyed bowling and the quality times she spent with her family, friends and her dog Max. Joan will be deeply missed by her family and by all who came to know her.
Joan is survived by her long time companion Bill Shannon of Trenton, NJ, her dearest children and their spouses, Janet and Rudi van Mol of Belle Mead, NJ, John and Heather Sabatini of Hulmeville, PA and Joseph and Jeanne Sabatini of Wrightstown, PA. Also surviving are her brothers, Harry Gaskill (Elaine) of Trenton, NJ and John “Barry” Jamieson (Marge) of Fallsington, PA her sisters, Patricia Elliott (Douglas) of Yardley, PA and Joy Waite (Gary) of Levittown, PA and her 10 cherished grandchildren, Johnny, Lauren, Andrew, Marissa, Kaitlyn, Alexis, Colton, Isabella, Sophia, Luke and 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 11:00AM until her Funeral Service 1:00PM from the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
