Antonio Nunez, of Flemington, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Fox Chase Cancer Center surrounded by his loving family. He was 61.
He was the beloved husband of 40 years to Denise Antonello Nunez.
Born in Bayonne, NJ, he was the son of Carmen Nunez and the late Matias Serrano-Nunez.
Tony grew up in Bayonne, NJ and was a graduate of St. Peters College in Jersey City in 1976. He climbed the corporate ladder and was able to live in several locations prior to settling in Flemington in 1992. In 2006, one of Tony’s biggest dreams and proudest accomplishments came true when he purchased a medical mattress company. Tony was an avid football and soccer fan; his favorite teams were the Oakland Raiders, Barcelona and Real Madrid. He loved going to the Caribbean and spending time on the beach. He loved fishing in Key West. In his free time he enjoyed playing poker. Tony’s family meant the world to him; he valued every moment with them and truly loved spending quality time together.
In addition to his loving wife and mother, Tony is survived by his daughters Jennifer Nunez-Stine and fiance Michael Jones of Willow Grove, PA. Jessica Lose and her husband Todd of Stockton, NJ, his brother, Joseph and Sharon Nunez of Hazlet, NJ, his sisters Carmen and Louis Petty of Bayonne, NJ Maryann and Frank Pawlowski of Bayonne, NJ, Cristina and George Sykowski of Howell, NJ. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren; Gabriella, Isabella, Sophia, MiaJolie and Nicholas, and his 2 grand-dogs, Sawyer and Tucker.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901 and his Funeral Mass on Monday, July 28, 2014, at 10:30 am at St. Magdalen De Pazzi, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
