Michael P. Moffett of Chalfont, died on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse, with his family by his side. He was 71.

He was the beloved husband of 48 years to Virginia "Ginny" Ruczynski Moffett. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Violet Phipps Sharrett of Sellersville and the late Howard Moffett.

Michael was a resident of Chalfont for 33 years. He was a graduate of Dobbins High School, class of 1957 and received his degree in Engineering from Widener University in 1971. Michael’s professional career spanned over 25 years, working as an Aerospace Engineer for General Electric and Lockheed Martin in Valley Forge. A baseball fan sports fan, he enjoyed traveling around the country following his St. Louis Cardinals. Michael was very supportive of his children and their sports and coached his children’s teams when they where young. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and dear friends.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children; Michael E. Moffett of Doylestown, Lisa M. Moffett of San Francisco, CA and Scott H. Moffett and his wife Desiree of Longmont CO. He is especially proud of his 2 dear granddaughters; Mikaela and Kina.

Michael’s family will receive condolences on Thursday March 3, 2011 from 6:00pm until his Memorial Service at 8:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 241 E. Butler Ave (Route 202 at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory maybe made to the Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse, 1800 Lombard Street, Philadelphia, PA 19146.
