Ruth June Goodison (Montgomery)
Ruth June Montgomery Goodison, of Richboro, died on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. She was 91.
She was the beloved wife of 55 years to late Lawrence W. Goodison, who died in 1996. Born in Brooklyn NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Agnes Wilson Montgomery.
Ruth has been a resident of Richboro for the past 17 years and been under the loving care of her daughter Lauren during all of her peaks and valleys. A woman of many talents, during her high school years she participated on the swim team and was a class mate of Ester Williams. Ruth worked for Kollsman Instrument Company in New York during the war, after working there for several years, she went and got her Certified Nurse Assistant degree from Central General Hospital in Plainview, NY., Ruth loved caring for people and was good at what she did.
Ruth was very well read and she was an accomplished artist who enjoyed working with oils. She also had a flare for designing hats and had worked in the fashion industry. A devoted mother and grandmother she will be deeply missed by all who came to know and love her.
She is survived by her devoted children; Gail L. Hall and her husband Ken of Bluffton SC, Michael L. Goodison and his wife Mary of Poway CA, Lauren L. Barbieri and her husband Joseph of Richboro and Corrine L. Chase and Harry Benanti of West Bay Shore NY,. She will be deeply missed by her loving 7 grandchildren, Christina Johnson, Nicole Klein, John Goodison, Frank, Joseph, Christopher and Alyssa Barbieri and her 6 great grandchildren; Krystin, Kayla, Kyleigh, Brianna, Brian and Micah and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services and Interment will be privately held.
