Cynthia F. Dancer, of New Hope, PA died on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Doylestown Hospital. She was 75.
She was the beloved wife and soul-mate of 32 years to Richard E. Dancer. Born in Rochester NY, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy Wright Fox and mother of the late Keith F. Goffin, grandmother of the late Olivia Hope Goffin and sister of the late Barbara Watson.
Cynthia was a resident of Buckingham Springs for the past 4 years. She was a graduate of Colby College in Waterville, Maine and received her Masters Degree in Science and Health from the University of North Florida, Jacksonville.
Cynthia’s professional career spanned many years. She started in Michigan as an outpatient therapist for those suffering from drug and alcohol abuse. She, along with her husband, moved to Florida where they spent over 25 years counseling together. Before retiring, she was the Clinical Director at Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach, Fl. She was loved by all her patients and had great success and joy in helping them with their recovery.
A woman of many talents, Cynthia was always active and enjoyed reading, attending her weekly Bible study and knitting with her friends. She loved to bless friends and neighbors by sending cards and making them cookies and jams.
In addition to her husband, Cynthia is also survived by her son Glen P. Goffin and his wife Mary Jane of Dublin PA, her daughter-in-law Tone Goffin of Oslo Norway, her brother Fred Fox of Rochester NY, and 3 special grandchildren; Katinka and Kassandra Goffin and David Savaiano.
Cynthia’s family will receive condolences on Monday April 25, 2011 from 10 am until her Memorial Service at 11 am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 241 E. Butler Ave.( Rt. 202 @ Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901.
In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to Aldie Counseling Center, 228 N. Main St. Doylestown, PA 18901.
