James Marshall Davies, Jr. 94, went home to be with the Lord and was reunited with loved ones that went ahead.

Born in Germantown, PA in 1920, James served this country in WW II and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He was a machinist and worked 26 years at Nabisco. He was an original Levittown owner and resided there for 53 years then moved to Holland 7 & ½ years ago. After his retirement, he attended BCCC for 20 years and used his hands to create art. In his late 80’s he built 2 wooden boats.

James, our beloved dad, grandpop, great grandpop and friend is also our hero. He raised 7 children after the sudden death of his beloved wife, Rosemary in 1964. Dad loved his family and organized many family gatherings. His family includes his children and their spouses; Christine and Tom Chadwick, Barbara and Joe Boyce, Miriam and Tom Plummer, Evelyn and Kevin Hasenzahl and Mark and Patti Davies along with 7 grandchildren and 8 great grand children. James was preceded by the passing of 3 of his sons: James Adam, Walter Howard, and David Lawrence Davies.

James was a man of many interests: reading, gardening, fishing, sailing, baking, biking and story-telling. We find it difficult to express all of the interests that he was involved in, but dad himself was never at a loss for words. He was active in all these pursuits right up till April of this year. His love for life, dedication, perseverance and commitment are just some of the lessons we learned from our dad. We are so grateful for him and all he taught us.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday August 12, 2014 from 8:00am until his Funeral Service 9:00am in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. Interment with military honors will follow in Beverly National Cemetery in Beverly, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 http://www.dav.org/
