Thien Van Le of Philadelphia, PA passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2011 in Philadelphia, PA.
Born August 8, 1928 at Can Duoc District, Tay Ninh Province, South Viet Nam. He was a native of VietNam with a lifelong military career. He was a decorated officer of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (South Viet Nam). In 30 years, he rised from rank junior lieutenant to Colonel of the Army.
He and his wife had been stationed all over the country of South Vietnam. From the hostile north border to the highland, down to the southernmost of the country, he proved a talented fighter, effective leader which earned him many medals including Purple Heart, Bronze Star and the equivalent Valor Medal.
After the fall of Saigon in 1975 and the Vietnamese communist took over the country, he spent next 12 years in the concentration camp. He was in many hard labor concentration camps in the northernmost of country to the central of Vietnam. These days had lot of effects on his health in later life.
After released from the labor camp, he and his wife reunified their children in the United States in 1991. They settled in Philadelphia since then.
Survived is his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Vo thi Dau and 8 children. Son, Tam Van Le, his wife Nguyen Bich Phuong and children; Daughter: KimPhung Le and her children; Son; Tai Van Le, his wife Nguyen thi Yen and son; Daughter; CamVan Le, her husband Le Thanh Dau and children; Daughter: ThuVan Le, her husband Nguyen Hun Dinh and children; Daughter; ThienHuong Le, her husband Le Dien and children, Son; Tuan Van Le, his wife Truong Diane and son; and daughter ThuThuy Le, her husband Vo Nhu Hung and daughter.
