John Lyons of Langhorne died Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne surrounded by his loving family. He was 92.

John was the beloved husband of the late Agnes McKenna Lyons and Ann D. Lyons.

Born in New York, New York, he was the son of the late John and Mary Clarke Lyons and father of the late Robert, David, Catherine and Patricia Lyons.

John was a resident of Langhorne since 1952. He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard serving during World War II and was an avid New York Yankees fan. John had worked for US Steel prior to establishing his own business. He was Communicant of the Church of St. Andrew in Newtown and was very proud of his Irish heritage. John enjoyed many years of travel with his wife Cookie and will be deeply missed by his family and by all who came to know him.

John is survived by his children, Gerald Lyons of New Jersey, Elizabeth Wieland and Nancy Lyons both of Langhorne, Mariann Patricella and her husband Joseph of Fairless Hills and Joann Matiko and her husband Peter, Jr. of Perkasie. Also survived by his sister-in-laws, Mary Ryan of Yardley and Helen McDonald of Perkasie, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, many loving nieces and nephews and his 2 cousins, Annie and Mollie Clarke from County Cavan, Ireland.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday, May 6, 2011 from 12:30pm until his Funeral Mass 2:00pm at the Olde Church of St. Andrew, 131 Sycamore Street, Newtown, PA 18940.

Interment will follow at the adjacent Parish Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Mary Medical Center, 1201 Langhorne-Newtown Rd., Langhorne, PA 19047 or Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Avenue, Phila., PA 19111.
