Charles H. “Charlie” Lauer, of Chalfont, PA died on Monday, May 16, 2011, at his residence. He was 67.
He was the beloved husband of Rosemarie Palmer Lauer for over 30 years.
Born Feb 14, 1944 in Atlantic City, NJ, he was the son of the late Charles and Miranda Kolbe Lauer.
Charlie was a graduate of Oak Crest High School in Egg Harbor City, N.J., class of 1962. He was a member of the Army National Guard, 112th Artillery. Charlie spent 38 years as a Switching Equipment Technician for Verizon and retired from their Ft. Washington center in 2009. He was an avid sports fan and loved both the Eagles and the Phillies. However, his life’s real passion was fishing. Whether freshwater or saltwater, Charlie was happiest with a fishing pole in his hands.
In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by his two sons Stephen Lauer and his wife Anju of North Wales, and Charles Lee Lauer of Chalfont.
Charles’ family will receive condolences on Friday, May 20, 2011 from 11:00AM until his Memorial Service 12 Noon at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (Route 202 & Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. Interment will be private.
