Cecelia E. Beveridge, of Chalfont, PA died on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Chandler Hall Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She was 72. She was the beloved wife of 43 years to James Beveridge.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Erwin McGowan, and mother of the late son Jimmy Beveridge.
Cecelia grew up in Philadelphia and was a graduate of Little Flower High School.
Cecelia was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest joy was being with her family. She was also a big practical joker to her family, especially her grandchildren. She touched so many people with her wonderful sense of humor, giving loving spirit, and generosity.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Kathy and John Eyrich of Warrington, Fran and Stefni Beveridge of Hainesport, NJ, Mary and Charles McFadden of Lansdale, Mike and Marlene Beveridge of Warrington, John Beveridge of New Hope, Peggy and Pat McDaid of Macungie, and Brian and Michelle Beveridge of Chalfont. She is also survived by her brothers, Joseph and Edward McGowan, the late Jack McGowan, and her sisters Helen Donohue, Peggy Dietrich, Patricia Rose, and the late Jean Hoctor. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing, Tuesday, May 24, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 241 East Butler Ave. (Route 202 & Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901, and to her Funeral Mass Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Route 152 and Broad Street, Hilltown, PA 18927. Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Chandler Hall Hospice Fund, 99 Barclay Street, Newtown, PA 18940.
