Jack Edwin Helms of East Amwell Township passed away on Monday August 11, 2014 at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown after a long and courageous battle with many illnesses for over a ten year duration. He was 87.

Born in Grafton, West Virginia, Jack was the son of the late Hester Polling and Franklin Gerkin and stepson of the late Horace Helms and the brother of the late Richard Helms.

Jack resided in East Amwell Township near Hopewell, New Jersey for the past forty years. He graduated from Anacostia High School in Washington D.C. and had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He had a distinguished career in the Reinsurance profession working in Washington D.C., New York and New Jersey.

Jack is survived by his sister-in-law Margaret Helms, his nieces, nephews and his civil union partner of thirty eight years Harry M. Myrga.

Services and interment were privately held at the convenience of the family.
