Marga Scharmacher, of Chalfont, PA died on Friday, May 20, 2011, at New Season at New Britain. She was 91.
She was the beloved wife of the late Heinz Scharmacher.
Born in Remscheid, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Emilie Zimmermann Michel.
Marga was born, raised and educated in Germany before moving to the United States in 1955. She moved to Glen Rock, NJ where she lived with her sister and brother in law and remained with them when they moved to Boston and she began a lengthily career with Liberty Mutual Insurance as a rater. In 1964 she met and married her husband Heinz and returned to North Jersey where she lived until moving to Bucks County in 1995.
Marga was a loving and talented woman who enjoyed working with her hands. She was a gifted seamstress who enjoyed making her own clothing, from sweaters to coats. She had a green thumb and every year grew a bountiful garden. However, her real love of nature showed through with the way she cared for her cats and dogs and all the wild animals she regularly nourished. Throughout the year and especially during cold and snowy winters she made sure that the birds, squirrels, ducks, and geese were always taken care of.
She is survived by her sister Lore Porsche of Doylestown and her 2 nephews Fred Porsche and his wife Rose of North Wales and Winfred Michel and his wife Gisela of Germany.
