Robert W. Carter of Langhorne, died on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at St. Mary Medical Center. He was 69.
He was the beloved husband of 24 years to Mary C. Scarborough Carter. Born in Abington, he was the son of the Late Robert E. and Emma LaRue Carter.
Bob was a life long resident of Langhorne and Newtown. He was a graduate of Neshaminy High School, class of 1959. Bob retired in 2004 as Senior Vice-President of Human Resources for First National Bank and Trust Company of Newtown, where he worked for over 38 years, Bob started working as a teller and eventually was named manager of the Washington Crossing branch and later Langhorne Borough branch manager and then to the corporate offices as Sr. Vice-President.
He was a member of Langhorne and Newtown Rotary Clubs and received the Paul Harris award from the Newtown Rotary Club. Bob was a member of the Addisville Reformed Church, Richboro for many years and was a member of the Newtown Lodge # 427 F and AM. He enjoyed golf and bowling and belonged to several bowling leagues, traveling to Florida with his wife. Bob was an enthusiastic Phillies fan and a sports memorabilia collector.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is also survived by his children; Jeffrey Carter, Laurie Carson and her husband David, Paula Dadak and her husband Fred, his brother Dennis E. Carter and his wife Kathy of Richboro. He is also survived by his dear grandchildren; Kyle, Alyssa, Brittany, Melissa and Keira.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings Friday, July 1, from 6 p.m. until his Masonic Services at 8 p.m., at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road), Richboro, and Saturday, from 9 a.m. until his funeral service at 10 a.m., at the Addisville Reformed Church, 945 Second St. Pike, Richboro. Interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery, Newtown.
In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the Memorial Fund of Addisville Reformed Church at the above address
