S. David Harris of Newtown passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at St. Mary Medical Center. He was 74.

Dave was the beloved husband of 53 years to Nancy (Wantner) Harris. Born in Trenton, NJ, he was the son of the late Milton and Clara (Trzcinski) Harris and brother of the late Rhoda Kowalski.

Dave was a long time resident of Newtown. Born and raised in Trenton, NJ, he was a graduate of Trenton Central High School, class of 1955. He was a much respected member of the community, both in Newtown and in Trenton and was a very successful, self made businessman. Shortly after getting his start in the textile industry, Dave, with his wife Nancy, founded Harris Manufacturing Company in Trenton, serving as President since its incorporation in 1972. With his vision, passion and resolve to do things right and treat people right; he grew the business to include three factories in two states and several hundred employees. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking and especially relaxing and fishing at the shore on Long Beach Island.

In addition to his beloved wife, he will be deeply missed by his loving family: daughter Leslie Donovan and her husband Kevin of Newtown, daughter Lauri Evans and her husband Ed of Holland, along with his four dear grandchildren; David Donovan and his fiancée Angela Krawiec of Dover, DE; Jessica Donovan of Newtown; Dillon Evans and Nicole Evans, both of Holland. He was also a loyal and devoted uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday, July 7, from 9:30am to 11:30am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road), Richboro, PA 18954.

Interment and Graveside Services will follow at 12:30pm in Newtown Cemetery, Newtown, PA.

A period of refreshment and fellowship will follow at the residence of Ed and Lauri Evans.
