Joseph E. Minnichbach, 63, of Trevose died on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Abington Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of 42 years to Maryanne Mullen Minnichbach. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Margaret A. Scott Minnichbach and the late Edward J. Minnichbach.
Joe was a resident of Trevose for the past 39 years and was a graduate of Bishop Egan High School class of 1966. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam where he was awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Joe continued his military service in the U.S. Army Reserves retiring as a 1st Sergeant after 23 years. He was a Customer Liaison Specialist for the Department of Defense for 30 years, retiring in 2009.
Affectionately known as “Sarge,” he coached baseball and football for LSAA in the 80’s and 90’s. He loved his family and friends and his cabin in Bradford County PA.
In addition to his beloved wife and mother, he is also survived by his loving children and their spouses; Jeffrey J. Minnichbach and wife Tracey of Langhorne, Joseph E. Minnichbach and his wife Lisa of Moscow PA, Maryellen Corbett and her husband Brian of Langhorne, Edward J.( Ted) Minnichbach and his wife Nancy of Broomfield CO, his brother Dean Minnichbach and his wife Ellen of BelAir MD, his sister Barbara Davis and her husband Boyd of Oakford and his very special grandchildren, Jared and Rebecca.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday evening August 17, 2011 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro and on Thursday at Assumption BVM Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Rd. Feasterville, from 10:15am to Words of Remembrance at 11:05am followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:15am. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers contributions in Joe’s memory be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 1120 G St. Suite 700 Washington DC 20005 or Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, 34th& Civic Center Blvd. Phila. PA, 19104.
