Helen F. Mellor, of Churchville, PA died on Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. She was 87.
She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Mellor.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Theresa Pubenc Olejkowski, mother of the late William Jr. and sister of the late Stanley and Larry Olejkowski.
In 1989, Helen and her husband moved to the San Diego area where she was very active in Our Lady of Grace Church as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Legion of Mary. For the past 9 years Helen has been a resident of Churchville. Growing up in Philadelphia she graduated from Mastbaum Vocational School. She was trained in accounting, and used her skills at various Credit Unions, serving as treasurer with Rohm and Haas Credit Union and the American Bakery Workers Federal Credit Union. Helen enjoyed keeping busy working on crafts, puzzles including crossword, needlepoint and crocheting. She was an avid reader and was constantly finishing books, so recently she began using a kindle which her children had given her.
She was an active parishioner and communicant of St. Bede the Venerable Church. She served as a Eucharist Minister, on the Altar Society, and participated in the Young at Heart Organization, where she was at one time their treasurer. The love and kindness she had for all of her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will always be remembered.
She is survived by her children Kriss Mellor and her husband William Clarke of Vail, Arizona, JoAnne Tedesco and her husband Ralph of Churchville, and Richard Mellor and his wife Muriel of La Mesa, CA, her 2 sisters and their families; Bernadine Peahota of Chalfont, Leona Opalkowski of Collegeville, PA and her brother Edwin Olejkowski of York PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Denise and John Labor, Michael and Kerry Tedesco, Janine and Jeremy Marr, Patrick Mellor and Matthew Tedesco and her 2 great-grandsons Dominick Tedesco and Taylor Marr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral viewing Monday, August 22, 2011 from 9:00am until her Funeral Mass 10:00am, St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Road, Richboro, PA 18954. Her interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
