Timothy Francis O'Leary
Timothy Francis O'Leary went to his eternal rest on September 23, 2011, at Pine Run Health Center, after a long, fierce battle with heart disease. He was 78 years old.
Timothy was born in Kearney, New Jersey, April 28, 1933, the second son of the late John and Margaret (Daniels) O'Leary. He graduated from St. Cecilia's High School, Class of 1951, where he found time to be in the Glee club, manage the soccer team and, in his senior year, be elected to President of the Senior class.
Timothy spent a short time in the Air Force, where the heart murmur that grounded him was first detected. He then worked in the IBM departments of Fireman's Insurance and Western Electric. Later, he made the move to a career in the food service industry, working for ShopRite and King's Supermarkets as Dairy Manager.
His passions in life were his children, baseball (love those Phils!), mystery novels, the Jersey Shore, and money management. Daily exercise kept his heart going and his spirit strong.
He is survived by his children, Patricia Markeveys (Joel) of Doylestown, Pa; Timothy O'Leary II (Rose) of Clinton, N.J.; Theresa Bunin (Charles) of Scotch Plains, N.J.; Susan Goodyear of Linden, N.J.; and Kathleen Jensen (Jeffrey) of Califon, N.J.; as well as his former wife, Patricia Kane of Cranford, N.J. Also surviving Timothy are his beloved grandchildren: Jesse Markeveys; Miles, Melinda and Colin O'Leary; Caitlin, Courtney and C.J. Bunin; and Daniel and Jessica Jensen. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister Catherine.
Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Timothy's life at the Westwood, 438 North Ave., Garwood, N.J., 07027, on Saturday, October 1, 2011, from noon to three pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association Memorial Fulfillment Center, 5455 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43214.
Sleep well, sweet man. We miss you so.
