Helen A. Miller of Ivyland died Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Neshaminy Manor Home, Warrington. She was 83.
Helen was the beloved wife of the late Robert W. Miller.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Elizabeth M. Laun Starr and sister of the late Thomas Starr.
Helen was a former resident of Ivyland for 47 years and also a resident of New Seasons at Chalfont for 5 years until most recently moving to Neshaminy Manor Home in Warrington. She had worked with Education Testing Service in Princeton, NJ for 20 years as a Clerk in the College Board Department. Helen was a faithful and devoted parishioner and communicant of St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church in Jamison and also served as the Past President of St. Cyril’s Women’s Club. In her leisure, she enjoyed bowling, golfing, bird watching, fishing and vacations spent with her children and grandchildren. Helen will be deeply missed by her family and by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Helen is survived by her dearest children, Doris M. Miller and her companion Brad W. Rodgers of Bedminster, Robert W. Miller and his wife Cynthia of Trenton, NJ, Thomas J. Miller and his wife Melanie of Charleston, SC, Steven F. Miller and his wife Gina of Fairless Hills, Karen E. Gunsel and her husband Scott of Bedminster, Carl F. Miller of Southampton and Patricia A. Quinn of Dublin. She is also survived by her brothers, Joseph Starr and his wife Helen of Moorestown, NJ and Edward Starr of West Palm Beach, FL, her sister Doris M. Korbel of Buckingham and her cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Jennifer, Gretchen, Kimberly, Joseph, Steven, Shirley, Christine, Jeffrey, Daniel and Evan. Helen is also survived by her 4 great grandchildren, Frank, Gabrielle, Ann Marie and Eva.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue, (Route 202 and Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain and to her Funeral Mass, Friday, October 28, 2011 at 10:00am at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church, 1410 Almshouse Rd., Jamison, PA 18929.
Interment will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery, Newtown.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 399 Market St., Suite 102, Phila., PA 19106.
