William H. Piercy of Furlong, PA died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 1, 2011, at Doylestown Hospital. He was 79.

He was the loving husband of Shirley Kerr Piercy for 24 years.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Ed and Eva Jackson Piercy.

Mr. Piercy was a resident of Furlong for the past 23 years. He received his degree in Commerce and Engineering from Drexel University, Class of 1955. Mr. Piercy was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. After serving on the U.S.S. Bearss, he became a CPA and partner at Main LaFrentz at the young age of 30. Afterwards he became CFO at Kewanee Oil Company before going into private practice. In 1979 he became a partner of Dunmore Corporation, located in Bristol, PA, Brewster, NY and Freiburg, Germany. He was a very active and dedicated member of The Anchor Presbyterian Church in Wrightstown as well as a member of TKE Fraternity Alumni. He was an avid Flyers fan and one of the original season ticket holders. He also generously supported his wife’s various choral activities.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his four children, Elizabeth Ann Piercy and her husband, Roger Fleischman, of Lexington, KY, Brian Piercy and his wife, Valerie, of League City, TX, Maura Granered and her husband, Erik, of Warrenton, VA, and Kenneth Piercy of Furlong, PA. He is also survived by 8 extremely talented grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Saturday, December 3, 2011, from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Service 12:00 Noon at The Anchor Presbyterian Church, 980 Durham Road, Wrightstown, PA 18940.

Private interment will take place at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to The Anchor Presbyterian Church at the above address.
