William P. Bishop of Holland, PA died on Monday, December 19, 2011, at his home after a courageous battle with ALS. He was 50.

He was the beloved husband of Karen S. Bishop for 22 years.

Born in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of Helen L. Sacre of Holland, PA and William P. Bishop and his wife, Elizabeth, of Port Orange, FL.

Bill was a resident of Holland for the past 22 years. He graduated in 1983 from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, with a B.A. in mathematics. Bill practiced as a pension consultant and actuary for many years. Before retiring in 2008 due to his illness, Bill served as President of Savitz, a Philadelphia employee benefits consulting firm. Under Bill’s leadership, the firm experienced tremendous growth and strengthened its reputation for providing quality innovative and creative solutions for its clients. As a direct descendant of William Paca, who signed the Declaration of Independence, Bill embraced a love of American history.

In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he is survived by his two children, Stephen P. Bishop and Elaine M. Bishop, both of Holland. He is also survived by his brother, Edward T. Bishop and his wife, Cynthia, of Langhorne, and his sister, Carolyn C. Bishop-Brennan and her husband, Kevin, of Glenolden, PA.

Funeral services and interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
