Adelaide E. Bergmaier Adams, of Churchville and Ft. Lauderdale, Fl died peacefully Wednesday evening January 25, 2012 at Abington Hospice, Warminster with her family by her side. She was 85.
Adelaide was the beloved wife of 67 years to her devoted husband Thomas J. Adams. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late George and Caroline Klohoker Bergmaier, and sister of the late George Bergmaier, Claire Bergmaier Muth and Joseph Bergmaier.
Adelaide was a resident of Churchville since 1955 when she and her husband founded Tom Adams Windows and Carpets in Churchville. Adelaide was a faithful and devoted parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Richboro. She was a loving wife; mother and grandmother who loved to spoil her grandchildren and comfort, care and play with her numerous dogs and cats. She enjoyed crafting and loved to crochet and surprise everyone with the most personalized hand crafted unique gifts! Adelaide and her husband Tom have wonderful memories of their time in the Pocono’s at Fairview Lake and enjoying the calm seas at Lighthouse Point Yacht Club in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl where they boated with family and friends. For the past 8 plus years, when not traveling, they have befriended many at Ann’s Choice in Warminster.
Adelaide will be sadly missed by her faithful and supportive family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving children and their spouses; Deborah M. Schmalbach and her husband Harry of Ivyland, Thomas J. Adams, Jr. and his wife Terry of Ivyland, Cheryl M. Strobel and her husband John of Ivyland and Glenn G. Adams and his wife Dana of Churchville, and her 9 very special grandchildren; Kelly, Ashley, Kristen, April, Victoria, Evan, Tommy, Glenn and Ryan. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law; Catherine and Ellen Bergmaier.
Adelaide’s family will receive condolences on Friday, February 3, 2012, from 2:00 PM until her Funeral Mass 4:00 PM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Road, Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will be private at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
