Marianne L. Lally Heilig, of Newtown, died peacefully on Sunday, January 29, 2012, at her home with her family by her side. She was 82.

She was the beloved wife of 61 years to James C. Heilig. Born in Scranton Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William and Juel Evans Lally and sister of the late Jean Lally McCloskey.

Marianne was a graduate of Scranton Central High School, class of 1947, and was also a graduate of Lackawanna Business College. Marianne worked as an Administrative Assistant for Bell Telephone Company in Scranton as well as the Chesapeake and Potomac Phone Company in Washington, DC for over 15 years.

Marianne and her husband were residents of the Junewood section of Levittown for 45 years, before moving to Newtown in 1998. When living in Levittown she was very active with the Junewood Women’s Club and the Levittown Seniors. She was a former parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Parish and an active member of the Sodality. Marianne was an avid reader, a wiz at crossword puzzles, she enjoyed bowling and spoiling her grandchildren.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is also survived by her supportive children; J. Michael Heilig of Levittown, Kathleen A. McInerney and her husband Thomas of Newtown, Ann M. Gallagher and her husband Gerry of Langhorne and Eileen Tiberio and her husband Louis of South Carolina, and her 7 dear grandchildren; Louis, Patrick, Thomas, Sean, Matthew, Bridgette and Grace Ann and 3 great grandchildren, Santino, Angelina and Jackson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday February 3, 2012 from 10am until her Funeral Mass 11 am at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd. Newtown. Interment will be Private.

In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to American Diabetes Assoc. Greater Phila. & Southeastern NJ 150 Monument Ave., Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
