John J. Nedwick, of Southampton, died peacefully with his devoted wife and family at his side on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Abington Hospice Warminster. He was 90.
He was the beloved husband of 51 years to Janet E. Peters Nedwick. Born in Ranshaw, PA, he was the son of the late Peter and Helen Niedzwiecki and father of the late David Nedwick.
John was a resident of Southampton for the past 50 years. He was in the Naval R.O.T.C Program at the University of Louisville during World War II and was honorably discharged from the service in June 1946. After receiving his Bachelors Degree in Chemistry in 1947 from Louisville he obtained a Masters Degree in 1952 from the University of Pennsylvania. From 1948 until his retirement in 1985 he had an impactful career at the Rohm and Haas Company. His assignments included leading the development of novel continuous high pressure polymerization processes of acetylene and ethylene chemistry. Later in his career he was responsible for the process development of many Agricultural Chemicals which still positively impact our lives today. John enjoyed fishing, golf and tennis with his family and ushering at his Church.
In addition to his beloved wife, John is survived by his caring sons; Peter Nedwick and his wife Christine of Midlothian VA and Paul J. Nedwick and his wife Mariann of Lansdale PA and his 6 dear grandchildren; Justin L., Ethan B., Taylor M., Austin R., Sarah E., and Kellan E. Nedwick.
John’s family will receive condolence on Saturday February 18, 2012 from 12:30 pm until his Funeral Services 2:00pm at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church 877 Street Rd. (at Knowles Ave.) Southampton, PA 18966.
Procession to Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, will form at 9:15am on Monday February 20, 2012 at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro PA.
